Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the Dawlance washer from the wall outlet and close the water tap before working on hoses or valves.
- Check household water supply: Ensure the water tap feeding the washer is fully open and that there is adequate water pressure. Try another tap in the house to confirm water supply.
- Inspect inlet hose and mesh filter: Turn off the tap, unscrew the inlet hose from the back of the washer. Inside the water inlet valve on the Dawlance machine there is a small mesh filter. Rinse it under running water and remove any sand, rust, or debris. Refit the hose securely and turn the tap back on.
- Check for hose kinks: Make sure the inlet hose is not sharply bent or pinched behind the machine.
- Test a quick cycle: Plug the washer back in, select a short wash or rinse cycle, and start. If E1 clears and water flows normally, the issue was likely blockage or low pressure.
- Inspect water inlet valve and pressure hose (advanced): If there is still no fill, unplug again, remove the top or rear panel (depending on model). Locate the water inlet valve assembly where the hose connects. Check the small rubber pressure hose from the tub to the water level sensor for cracks, disconnection, or blockage. If the valve coil is open-circuit (test with a multimeter) or the valve is stuck closed, replace the water inlet valve assembly.
If E1 persists after these checks, contact an authorized Dawlance service center for further diagnosis of the control board or sensor.
