Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the washer and allow it to cool completely before working near the heater.
- Access heater terminals: Remove the rear panel to locate the heating element at the bottom of the tub.
- Inspect wiring: Check for burnt or loose connectors on the heater terminals. Repair or replace damaged wires.
- Test heater resistance: Disconnect the heater wires and measure resistance with a multimeter. Typical values are 20–30 Ω (check Dawlance specs). If open-circuit, replace the heating element.
- Check for earth leakage: Measure resistance between each heater terminal and the metal tub. Any low resistance indicates leakage; replace the heater.
If the heater and wiring are good but E12 remains, the heater relay or triac on the PCB may be faulty. PCB repair should be done by an authorized Dawlance service center.
