Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: If the machine is shaking heavily, press the power button to stop the cycle and unplug if necessary.
- Redistribute the load: Open the door or lid when safe. Spread clothes evenly around the drum. Avoid washing a single heavy item (like one blanket) alone; add a few smaller items to balance the load.
- Check machine leveling: Ensure the Dawlance washer is on a solid, level floor. Adjust the front and rear leveling feet so the machine does not rock when pushed diagonally.
- Inspect suspension system (advanced): Unplug the washer and remove the top or rear panel. Check the shock absorbers (front-load) or suspension rods (top-load) for oil leakage, broken plastic ends, or excessive play. Replace worn shocks or rods in pairs for best performance.
- Check tub springs and counterweights: Inspect the tub support springs and concrete or cast-iron counterweights for cracks or looseness. Tighten mounting bolts or replace damaged parts.
After correcting the load and suspension issues, run a spin cycle again. If E4 continues with normal loads, have a Dawlance technician inspect the balance sensor and control board.
