Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the Dawlance washer and allow it to cool if it was heating.
- Access NTC sensor: On most Dawlance front-loaders, the NTC sensor is mounted in the heater housing at the bottom of the tub. Remove the rear panel to locate the heater and NTC.
- Check wiring: Ensure the NTC connector is firmly seated and wires are not damaged or burnt.
- Test NTC resistance: Disconnect the sensor and measure resistance with a multimeter. At room temperature, it should typically read between 20–30 kΩ (check Dawlance service data for exact value). If reading is open (infinite) or near 0 Ω, replace the NTC sensor.
- Inspect heater: Check the heating element for visible damage or earth leakage (test between terminals and ground). A shorted heater can sometimes trigger E8.
Replace the NTC sensor or heater as needed. If E8 remains after parts replacement, the main PCB may be faulty and should be checked by a Dawlance technician.
