Possible Causes
Door lock mechanism jammed, Control board not sending unlock signal, Broken door handle or latch, Residual water in drum preventing unlock
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off and unplug the washer. Do not force the door open with tools as this can damage the lock and seal.
- Wait a few minutes: Many Dawlance models delay unlocking for 1–3 minutes after spin. Wait and listen for the click.
- Check for water in drum: If water is visible, drain via the filter or emergency drain hose, then try opening again.
- Use emergency release (if equipped): Some models have a manual release tab near the drain filter. Pull gently to unlock the door.
If the door remains locked, the lock assembly or PCB may be faulty and should be serviced by a technician.
