Possible Causes

Faulty secondary inlet valve coil (e.g., softener or pre-wash valve), Blocked dispenser inlet nozzle, Flow meter (if fitted) not detecting flow, Wiring fault to valve

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power and close water taps before working on the inlet system.

  • Run different program: Try a basic cotton wash. If E12 only appears on certain cycles (e.g., pre-wash), the dedicated valve for that function may be faulty.
  • Clean dispenser area: Remove the detergent drawer and clean the top of the dispenser where water enters. Blocked nozzles can restrict flow and trigger errors.
  • Inspect valve coils (advanced): Remove the top cover and locate the multi-way water inlet valve. Identify the coil associated with the problematic function and test its resistance. Replace the valve assembly if a coil is open-circuit.

Because inlet valves are sealed units, they are not repairable and must be replaced if defective.
