Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Switch off and unplug the washer before attempting to open a stuck door. Do not force the door.
- Wait for cool-down: Some locks remain engaged for 1–3 minutes after cycle end. Wait this period and try again.
- Power reset: Unplug the washer for 5–10 minutes, then plug back in and attempt to unlock. Some models will release the lock after a power cycle.
- Emergency release (if fitted): Check the lower front panel or behind the filter flap for a manual door release pull cord. Gently pull to open the door.
- Inspect lock (advanced): Once open and unplugged, remove the door lock as described earlier and check for mechanical damage or overheating. Replace the lock if it appears burnt or cracked.
If the door remains locked and there is water inside, drain via the pump filter before tilting or moving the machine. Contact a technician if you cannot safely open the door.
