E15
Defy
Excessive Suds / Foam Detection
Washer displays E15, excessive foam detected, cycle may pause or extend

Possible Causes
Overdosing of detergent, Use of non-HE (high-efficiency) detergent in Defy front-loader, Very soft water causing extra suds, Partial drain restriction trapping foam
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not open the door mid-cycle if the drum is full of hot water or spinning.
- Allow automatic correction: Many Defy models will add extra rinses and pauses to reduce foam. Let the machine complete this process.
- Use less detergent: For future washes, reduce the amount of detergent, especially in soft water areas. Use HE detergent recommended for front-loaders.
- Run rinse and spin: If E15 persists, run an extra rinse and spin cycle with no detergent to clear remaining suds.
- Check drain system: Clean the pump filter and ensure the drain hose is not partially blocked, as poor draining can leave foam in the tub.
Persistent foam errors even with low detergent may indicate a sensor or control issue; consult a technician if this continues.
