Possible Causes
Broken or slipped drive belt, Worn motor pulley, Loose drum pulley bolt, Overloaded drum causing belt strain
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the washer before removing the rear panel.
- Inspect belt: Remove the rear cover and check if the belt is still on the pulleys. If it is off or broken, replace it with the correct Defy belt.
- Check pulleys: Ensure the motor and drum pulleys are tight and aligned. Tighten the drum pulley bolt if loose.
- Fit new belt: Place the belt around the motor pulley first, then partially around the drum pulley. Rotate the drum by hand to walk the belt fully onto the pulley.
After replacement, run a spin-only cycle without laundry to confirm proper operation.
