Safety first: Keep clear of the machine while it is violently shaking; unplug it once it stops.

Rebalance load: Remove some items if the drum is overfilled, or add items if a single heavy item is causing imbalance. Restart spin.
Level the machine: Adjust the feet so the washer is stable and does not rock. Use a spirit level if available.
Check suspension (advanced): With power off, press down on the drum from the top. Excessive bouncing or clunking suggests worn shocks or springs that should be replaced.
Check for drum play: Gently lift the drum up and down at the door opening. Noticeable vertical movement or grinding indicates bearing wear.

Replacement of shocks, springs, or bearings is a more advanced repair and is best handled by a professional.
