Possible Causes
Leaking door boot (bellows), Loose or cracked tub-to-pump hose, Leaking drain pump housing or seal, Over-sudsing causing overflow into base pan
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the washer and turn off water supply. Be prepared for water spillage when tilting or opening panels.
- Check for visible leaks: Look around the door, under the front, and behind the washer for water trails. Inspect the door boot for tears, holes, or mold-damaged areas.
- Access base pan: Carefully tilt the washer slightly backward and look underneath. Many Electrolux models have a float or sensor in the base pan. If water is present, soak it up with towels or a wet/dry vacuum.
- Inspect hoses and pump: Remove the lower front access panel (or rear panel, depending on model). Check the tub-to-pump hose, pump outlet hose, and clamp connections for drips or cracks. Examine the drain pump body for signs of leakage.
- Address over-sudsing: If you see excessive foam inside the tub, switch to HE detergent and use smaller quantities. Run a rinse/spin cycle to clear suds.
- Test again: After drying the base pan and tightening/replacing any leaking components, run a short cycle while observing for leaks.
If the leak source is not obvious or involves the outer tub, contact a technician.
