Possible Causes
Partially blocked drain pump, Obstructed sump hose from tub to pump, Drain hose installed too high or too low, Weak or failing drain pump motor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power and prepare for water spillage.
- Repeat filter cleaning: Even if recently cleaned, remove the pump filter again and check for small items lodged deeper in the housing.
- Inspect sump hose: Access the underside/front of the washer. Locate the large black hose from the tub to the pump. Clamp it, remove the spring clamp, and check inside for socks, lint, or other obstructions. Refit securely.
- Verify drain installation: Ensure the drain hose height meets Electrolux specifications (typically 60–100 cm above floor). A hose that is too low can cause siphoning; too high can strain the pump.
- Evaluate pump strength: During a drain cycle, listen for unusual grinding or intermittent operation. If the pump runs but water flow is weak and all hoses are clear, replace the pump.
