Possible Causes
Worn carbon brushes on motor (if applicable), Faulty motor tachometer, Loose motor wiring connector, Defective motor control circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the washer before accessing the motor.
- Check drum movement: Rotate the drum by hand. It should move smoothly without grinding or binding.
- Inspect motor connections: Remove the rear panel. Locate the drive motor at the bottom of the tub. Ensure the wiring plug is fully seated and free of corrosion.
- Brush inspection (brush-type motors): Remove the motor and inspect the carbon brushes. If they are worn short or uneven, replace them with OEM Electrolux brushes.
- Test spin: Reassemble and run a spin-only cycle. If E50 persists, further diagnosis of the motor and control board is required.
