Possible Causes
Stuck door lock mechanism, Faulty door lock solenoid, Broken door handle or latch, Control board not sending an unlock signal
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the washer. Do not force the door open with excessive strength.
- Wait a few minutes: Some Gorenje models delay unlocking for 1–2 minutes after the cycle ends. Wait and listen for a click.
- Use emergency release: Many models have a manual door release near the pump filter, behind the lower flap. Pull the colored tab or cord gently to unlock the door.
- Inspect lock: Once open, check the door latch hook and the lock opening for damage or obstruction.
- Test lock operation: Start a short cycle and listen for the lock engaging. If there is no click or if F13 appears again, the lock assembly is likely faulty.
Replace the door lock assembly if it fails to lock or unlock reliably. If a new lock does not resolve F13, the control board may be at fault.
