Possible Causes
Open or shorted NTC sensor, Loose NTC connector, Damaged wiring between NTC and PCB, Faulty analog input on main PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the washer and allow it to cool before working near the heater area.
Step-by-step checks:
- Locate NTC sensor: Remove the rear panel. The NTC is usually clipped into the heater bracket at the bottom of the tub.
- Test NTC resistance: Disconnect the NTC connector and measure resistance at room temperature (commonly 20–30 kΩ; check Grundig specs). If the reading is near 0 Ω (short) or infinite (open), replace the NTC.
- Check wiring: Inspect the cable from the NTC to the PCB for cuts or crushed sections. Repair or replace as needed.
- PCB input: If a new NTC and good wiring still result in E14, the temperature sensing circuit on the PCB may be defective. Replace the main control board.
