Possible Causes
Drain hose inserted too deep into standpipe, Standpipe height below Grundig specification, Faulty anti-siphon device, Incorrect installation of drain hose loop
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the washer and turn off water supply if overfilling occurs.
Step-by-step checks:
- Verify drain hose installation: Ensure the drain hose height meets Grundig's minimum (usually 60–100 cm above floor). The hose should form a high loop at the back of the machine before entering the standpipe.
- Adjust hose depth: The hose end should not be sealed tightly into the standpipe and should not extend more than 10–15 cm into it. Pull it out slightly if necessary.
- Check anti-siphon device: Some Grundig models have an anti-siphon valve on the hose. Inspect it for blockage or incorrect orientation. Replace if defective.
- Test cycle: After correcting installation, run a rinse cycle and observe filling and draining. E17 should clear if siphoning is resolved.
