How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the washer before cleaning internal parts. Use gloves when handling cleaning chemicals.
Step-by-step cleaning:
- Run a hot maintenance wash: Run an empty 90°C cotton cycle with a washing machine cleaner or 1–2 cups of white vinegar (check Grundig manual for approved cleaners).
- Clean door gasket: Wipe the gasket folds with a cloth soaked in mild bleach solution or specialized cleaner. Remove lint and slime.
- Clean detergent drawer: Remove the drawer and soak it in hot soapy water. Clean the drawer housing with a brush to remove mold.
- Check and clean pump filter: Remove debris that may cause stagnant water.
- Improve ventilation: After each wash, leave the door and detergent drawer slightly open to allow drying.
