Possible Causes
Clogged inlet filter screens, Defective water inlet valve, Low household water pressure, Faulty water level (pressure) sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the washer and turn off both hot and cold water supply valves before working on hoses or valves.
- Check household water supply: Ensure both faucets feeding the washer are fully open and that other fixtures in the home have normal pressure.
- Clean inlet filters: Disconnect the inlet hoses from the back of the Haier washer. Inside the valve ports you will see small mesh screens. Rinse them under running water and brush off sediment. Reinstall carefully.
- Inspect hoses: Make sure hoses are not kinked, crushed, or frozen. Straighten or replace as needed.
- Test a quick cycle: Restore power and water, then run a short wash. If E1 returns quickly, the inlet valve coil or water level sensor may be faulty.
- Advanced check (for experienced DIYers): With power disconnected, access the top or rear panel to reach the water inlet valve assembly. Use a multimeter to check coil resistance against Haier specs. If open or shorted, replace the valve assembly. If the tub never registers water even when filling, the pressure sensor and its air hose may need inspection or replacement.
