Possible Causes

Defective door lock assembly, Broken or misaligned door latch hook, Wiring harness issue between door lock and control module, Faulty main control module

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the washer from the mains and turn off the water supply before any work. Do not bypass the door lock for testing with the machine powered.

  • Check door closure: Open and firmly close the door. Make sure no laundry is trapped between the door glass and gasket. The latch hook must fully engage the door lock.
  • Inspect the door latch hook: Look at the metal or plastic hook on the door of your Hansa washer. If it is loose, cracked, or bent, it may not reach the lock. Replace the door latch hook if damaged.
  • Test the door lock assembly: Remove the front door seal clamp and gently pull back the gasket to access the door lock. Check for burnt smell, cracks, or loose connectors. Reseat the wiring plug firmly. If the lock rattles internally or shows signs of burning, replace the door lock assembly.
  • Check wiring to control module: With power disconnected, trace the harness from the door lock to the main control module (usually at the top or rear). Look for broken insulation, corrosion on connectors, or loose plugs. Repair or replace damaged wiring.
  • If E01 persists: After reseating connectors and confirming the door lock is new/known-good, the fault may be in the main control module. At this point, professional diagnosis is recommended.
