Possible Causes

Stuck or shorted water inlet valve, Blocked or detached pressure switch hose, Faulty pressure switch, Defective main control module

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the washer immediately and close the water taps if water continues to enter. Do not operate the machine until the fault is corrected.

  • Check if water flows with power off: If water still enters the drum when the washer is unplugged, the inlet valve is mechanically stuck open. Replace the water inlet valve assembly.
  • Inspect pressure hose: Remove the top cover. Locate the pressure switch and its thin rubber hose going to the tub or air chamber. Ensure the hose is firmly connected at both ends, not split, kinked, or blocked with detergent residue. Clean or replace as needed.
  • Test pressure switch: Disconnect the hose from the switch and gently blow into the switch; you should hear one or more clicks. Use a multimeter to verify that the switch contacts change state when pressure is applied. Replace the pressure switch if it does not respond.
  • Check for foam and blockage: Excessive detergent can cause foam that interferes with level sensing. Run an empty rinse and spin cycle after correcting the issue to clear foam.
  • If E04 persists: After replacing the inlet valve and/or pressure switch and confirming the hose is intact, the main control module may be faulty. Seek professional service for board-level diagnosis.
