Possible Causes
NTC sensor out of tolerance, Poor thermal contact between NTC and tub, Stuck heater relay on control board, Scale buildup on heater affecting sensing
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and let the machine cool completely.
- Check NTC seating: Ensure the NTC is fully inserted into its pocket and making good contact with the tub or heater housing.
- Descale heater: If you have hard water, limescale on the heater can cause localized overheating. Remove the heater and descale it or replace if heavily scaled.
- Replace NTC if suspect: If resistance values are slightly off spec or unstable, replace the NTC sensor.
- Control board relay: If water overheats beyond set temperature, the heater relay may be stuck closed. Inspect the control board and replace it if the relay is welded.
