Possible Causes
Door lock mechanism jammed, Control module not sending unlock signal, Broken door handle or latch, Faulty door lock solenoid
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off and unplug the washer. Wait several minutes to allow the lock to cool and release. Do not force the door open.
- Emergency release: Many Hansa models have a manual door release near the pump filter. Open the lower flap and pull the colored plastic tab or cord to mechanically unlock the door.
- Inspect door handle and latch: Once open, check if the handle operates smoothly and the latch hook moves freely. Replace broken handles or latches.
- Replace door lock: If the lock remains stuck or noisy, replace the door lock assembly.
- Control module check: If a new lock still does not unlock at end of cycle, the control board may not be energizing the unlock circuit and may require replacement.
