Possible Causes
Broken or slipped drive belt, Faulty motor, Defective motor brushes, Faulty motor control on main board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the washer before removing panels.
- Check belt: Remove the rear panel and inspect the belt between the motor and drum pulley. If off or broken, fit a new Hansa-compatible belt and ensure correct tension.
- Test drum movement: Rotate the drum by hand. If it is seized, suspect bearing or foreign object issues rather than the motor.
- Inspect motor and brushes: Remove the motor and check carbon brushes. Replace if worn short. Test motor windings for continuity.
- Control board: If belt and motor are good, the motor drive circuit on the control board may be faulty and require replacement.
