Possible Causes
Frequent low-temperature washes, detergent and softener residue in the tub and hoses, standing water in door gasket folds, clogged drain system harboring bacteria.
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Use appropriate cleaning agents and ventilate the area.
- Run a hot maintenance wash: Run an empty 90 °C cycle with a washing machine cleaner or 1–2 cups of white vinegar (if allowed by the Hansa manual).
- Clean gasket and drum: Wipe the door gasket folds with a cloth and mild detergent. Remove any visible mold.
- Clean dispenser drawer: Remove and wash the detergent drawer and its housing to remove slime and residue.
- Leave door open: After each wash, leave the door and dispenser slightly open to allow drying and prevent mold growth.
