Washer will not start a cycle; display works but Start button does nothing.

Safety first: Do not attempt to bypass safety interlocks.

• Check door lock indicator: Ensure the door is firmly closed and the lock indicator lights when Start is pressed. If not, see door lock-related entries.
• Disable child lock: On many Hansa models, press and hold the designated key combination (often two buttons with a key symbol) for several seconds to disable child lock. Refer to the user manual.
• Try another program: Select a different cycle and press Start to rule out a specific program issue.
• Inspect control panel: If some buttons do not respond, the user interface board or membrane may be faulty and require replacement.
