Possible Causes
Worn shock absorbers (dampers), Broken or stretched suspension springs, Transit bolts not removed on new installation, Uneven or weak floor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the washer before tipping or moving it.
- Check load: Ensure the drum is not overloaded or washing a single heavy item (e.g., one bath mat). Redistribute the load and try again.
- Level the machine: Adjust the front and rear feet so the washer is level and stable. Lock the feet if possible.
- Transit bolts: On newly installed machines, confirm all transit bolts at the rear have been removed. Operating with transit bolts fitted causes severe vibration.
- Inspect dampers: Remove the rear or front lower panel to view the shock absorbers. If they are leaking oil, bent, or offer little resistance when moved by hand, replace them in pairs with Hotpoint-compatible dampers.
- Check suspension springs: Inspect the top suspension springs for stretching or breakage. Replace if damaged.
