Possible Causes
Open or shorted water temperature sensor, Loose thermistor wiring, Failed main control board temperature circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power and shut off water before accessing internal components.
- Locate sensor: On applicable models, find the thermistor mounted in the tub or attached to the inlet valve assembly.
- Check wiring: Inspect the harness from the sensor to the control board for damage or loose connections.
- Measure resistance: Use a multimeter to measure sensor resistance at room temperature and compare to service manual specifications. Replace the sensor if readings are out of range or unstable.
- Control board: If a known-good sensor and wiring still produce E tS, the control board may be defective and require replacement.
