Possible Causes
Stuck water inlet valve, blocked pressure hose, faulty pressure switch, control board misreading water level
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Unplug the washer and turn off both water supply valves immediately if overfilling occurs.
Step-by-step checks:
- 1. Check if water continues to flow when unplugged: If water keeps entering the tub with the washer unplugged, the inlet valve is mechanically stuck open and must be replaced.
- 2. Inspect inlet valve screens: Turn off water, disconnect hoses from the back of the washer, and inspect the small screens inside the valve ports. Clean sediment with a soft brush; do not puncture screens.
- 3. Inspect pressure hose and air dome: Remove and clear the small hose from the tub to the pressure switch. Ensure the tub air dome port is not clogged with soap scum.
- 4. Test pressure switch: With the hose connected, gently blow into it and listen for clicks from the switch. If no clicks or erratic operation, replace the pressure switch.
- 5. Replace water inlet valve if needed: Remove the top or rear panel, disconnect wiring and hoses from the valve, remove mounting screws, and install the new valve. Reconnect hoses and check for leaks.
Note: Persistent F09 after valve and pressure system checks may indicate a faulty control board.
