Possible Causes
Defective door lock assembly, misaligned door strike, broken door latch, wiring harness issue to door lock
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Unplug the washer before removing the door boot or front panel.
Step-by-step checks:
- 1. Inspect door strike: Check the plastic strike on the door for cracks or looseness. Tighten screws or replace if damaged.
- 2. Check door alignment: Ensure the door closes squarely and fully. Adjust hinges if the door sags.
- 3. Access door lock: Remove the outer clamp from the door boot and peel the boot back near the lock. Remove the screws securing the lock to the front panel and pull the lock assembly out.
- 4. Inspect and test lock: Look for burn marks or broken plastic. Verify the wiring connector is tight. If the lock shows signs of overheating or mechanical failure, replace it.
- 5. Reassemble carefully: Install the new lock, reconnect wiring, refit the boot and clamp evenly to prevent leaks.
Note: If F22 persists with a new lock, the main control board may not be sending power to the lock and may require replacement.
