Unbalanced Load Detection
Top-load Inglis washer displays UL and stops or slows spin; load is out of balance.

Possible Causes
Load not distributed evenly, mixed heavy and light items, worn suspension rods or springs, weak shock absorbers (on some models)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Wait for the drum to stop before reaching inside.
Step-by-step checks:
- 1. Redistribute load: Open the lid, separate tangled items, and spread clothes evenly around the basket. Remove heavy items if the load is too large.
- 2. Run spin again: Close the lid and restart the Spin or Drain & Spin cycle.
- 3. Check leveling: Ensure the washer is level front-to-back and side-to-side. Adjust leveling feet and lock them in place.
- 4. Inspect suspension: If UL occurs frequently with normal loads, inspect suspension rods/springs and dampers for wear or oil leakage. Replace as a set if worn.
