Possible Causes
Leaking tub seal, Loose hose clamp on drain or recirculation hose, Cracked drain pump housing, Over-sudsing causing foam overflow into base
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the washer and turn off water supply. Water in the base can contact electrical parts.
- Inspect for visible leaks: Look around and under the Insignia washer for water. Mop up any standing water.
- Access base tray: Remove the rear or bottom panel to view the base. Many models have a float switch or sensor that triggers E13 when water is present.
- Dry the base: Carefully sponge or vacuum out water from the base tray. Allow the area to dry completely.
- Run a short fill test: With panels off, briefly run a fill and agitate cycle while watching for drips from hoses, pump, or tub seal. Do not touch moving parts.
- Tighten or replace hoses: If a hose connection is leaking, tighten clamps or replace the hose. If the pump housing is cracked, replace the Insignia drain pump assembly.
- Address over-sudsing: If no hardware leak is found, reduce detergent quantity and use HE detergent only. Excess suds can trigger leak sensors.
- Tub seal issues: If water appears around the center of the tub or bearing area, the main tub seal may be failing and typically requires professional replacement.
