Washer does not drain water; cycle stops with E2 on the display and tub remains full.

Safety first: Unplug the washer. Water may spill when opening filters or hoses; keep towels and a shallow pan ready.

• Inspect drain hose: Check the Insignia washer's drain hose at the back for kinks, crushing, or being pushed too far into the standpipe. Straighten and reposition as needed.
• Access pump filter (if equipped): On many Insignia front-load models, a small access door at the bottom front hides the pump filter. Place a pan under it, open the door, and slowly unscrew the filter cap to let water drain.
• Clean filter and housing: Remove lint, coins, buttons, and debris from the filter and pump cavity. Spin the pump impeller with your finger to ensure it moves freely.
• Check for obstructions in sump hose: If accessible, squeeze and inspect the black rubber sump hose between tub and pump for trapped items. Remove hose clamps and clear blockages if necessary.
• Test drain function: Reassemble, plug in the washer, and run a drain/spin cycle. Listen for the pump running. If the pump hums but does not move water, it may be jammed or failing.
• Replace drain pump: If the pump is silent, only hums, or tests open with a multimeter, replace the Insignia drain pump assembly. Disconnect power, remove front or rear panel, swap the pump, transfer hoses and wiring, and secure it before testing.
