How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the washer before testing electrical components.
- Listen for pump: Start a drain/spin cycle and listen. If the Insignia washer is powered but the pump is silent, E23 likely indicates a pump circuit issue.
- Inspect wiring: Access the pump from the front or bottom. Check the harness connector for burns, loose pins, or broken wires. Repair or replace as needed.
- Test pump motor: Disconnect the pump and measure resistance across its terminals. An open reading indicates a failed pump.
- Replace pump: If the pump is open or seized, install a new Insignia drain pump assembly and reconnect wiring.
- Control board diagnosis: If the pump tests good but never receives voltage during drain, the main control board's pump relay may be defective and will likely need replacement.
