• Inspect pump and wiring: Access the Insignia drain pump and check for signs of overheating, melted plastic, or burnt smell. Inspect wiring for chafing or shorts.
• Test pump resistance: Use a multimeter to verify the pump's resistance is within specification. A very low resistance may indicate an internal short.
• Replace shorted pump: If the pump is shorted, replace it and inspect the harness for damage.
• Control board evaluation: If E24 persists with a new pump, the pump control triac on the main board is likely damaged. Replace the main control board with the correct Insignia part.
