Possible Causes
Load clustered on one side of drum, Mixed heavy and light items causing imbalance, Worn suspension rods or shock absorbers, Loose counterweight or suspension springs
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not reach into a spinning drum. Wait until the washer fully stops.
- Redistribute the load: Open the door or lid and spread clothes evenly around the drum. Remove heavy items like blankets and wash them separately.
- Check machine leveling: Ensure the Insignia washer is level front-to-back and side-to-side. Adjust the front and rear leveling feet and lock them in place.
- Run a spin-only test: With the drum empty, run a spin cycle. If the washer still vibrates excessively or shows E4, internal suspension components may be worn.
- Inspect suspension (advanced): Unplug the washer and remove the top or rear panel. Check suspension rods (top-load) or shock absorbers (front-load) for oil leakage, broken mounts, or excessive play.
- Replace worn suspension parts: Replace Insignia suspension rods, shocks, or springs in sets to maintain balance. Reassemble and re-level the washer before use.
