Washer displays E40; door symbol may flash and cycle will not start.

Safety first: Ensure the door is closed before starting any cycle.

• Close door firmly: Push the Insignia washer door closed until you hear a click. Do not slam, as this can damage the latch.
• Inspect strike and latch: Check the door strike for cracks or looseness. Tighten screws or replace if damaged.
• Check hinge alignment: If the door sags or rubs, adjust or tighten the hinges so the latch lines up correctly.
• Test lock switch: If E40 persists, the door lock switch inside the lock assembly may not be signaling closed. Replace the Insignia door lock assembly if necessary.
