Washer displays E7 and will not start; lid or door may not lock properly.

Safety first: Unplug the washer before working around the door lock. Do not bypass safety interlocks for normal use.

• Check door closure: Ensure the Insignia washer door or lid is fully closed and that no clothing is trapped in the seal or latch area.
• Inspect door strike: Examine the plastic or metal strike on the door that engages the lock. If it is loose, cracked, or misaligned, tighten screws or replace the strike.
• Listen for lock operation: Start a cycle and listen for a click from the lock area. If there is no sound and E7 appears, the lock may not be energizing.
• Access lock assembly: Unplug the washer, remove the top or front panel, and locate the door/lid lock assembly on the cabinet frame.
• Check wiring: Verify the harness connector is fully seated and wires are intact. Repair any damaged wiring.
• Replace lock assembly: If the lock is physically damaged or tests open with a multimeter, replace the Insignia door lock or lid lock assembly. Reattach with screws, reconnect wiring, and test.
