• Inspect wiring: Ensure all connectors to the heater and temperature sensor (NTC) are secure and free of corrosion.
• Test heater (advanced): With a multimeter, measure resistance across the heater terminals. An open circuit indicates a failed element that must be replaced.
• Test NTC sensor: Measure resistance of the NTC at room temperature and compare to Insignia specifications (typically 5–20 kΩ). A reading of 0 Ω or infinite resistance indicates failure.
• Replace faulty parts: Replace the Insignia heater element or NTC sensor as needed, ensuring the tub gasket is properly seated to prevent leaks.
• Control board check: If heater and sensor are good, the main control board heater relay may be defective and should be evaluated by a technician.
