Possible Causes

Stuck-open water inlet valve, Blocked or detached pressure hose causing false low level reading, Faulty water level sensor, Control board misreading level signal

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the washer and turn off water supply immediately if overfilling occurs. Mop up any spilled water to prevent slipping.

  • Shut off water: Close both hot and cold supply valves to the Insignia washer to stop filling.
  • Check tub water level: If the tub is overfull, manually drain using the drain filter or a wet/dry vacuum before proceeding.
  • Inspect inlet valves: With power disconnected and water turned off, remove the hoses and check if water continues to drip through the valve. A valve that leaks when de-energized is defective.
  • Examine pressure hose and sensor: Remove the top panel and inspect the pressure hose for disconnection or cracks. Reseat it on the tub air dome and sensor, and secure with clamps.
  • Test fill after reset: Restore water and power, then run a small test cycle. If the washer continues to overfill or E9 returns, replace the Insignia water inlet valve and/or water level sensor as indicated by testing.
  • Control board evaluation: Persistent overflow with good valves and sensor suggests a control board fault; contact a professional.
