Top-load washer agitator or impeller does not move, but tub may spin.

Safety first: Unplug the washer before working inside the tub.

• Check for obstruction: Remove laundry and inspect around the agitator or impeller for trapped items.
• Test agitator movement: Try to rotate the agitator by hand. If it spins freely without resistance, the dogs or hub may be worn.
• Remove agitator: Pop off the agitator cap and remove the center bolt. Lift the agitator out to inspect the dogs or hub.
• Replace worn parts: Install new Insignia-compatible agitator dogs or drive hub as needed, then reassemble and test.
• Transmission issues: If the agitator is mechanically sound but still does not move during wash, the gearcase or transmission may be faulty and require professional service.
