Steps:

• Check door alignment: Ensure the door hinges are not sagging and that the door closes squarely.
• Inspect strike and latch: Replace any cracked or worn parts.
• Access and inspect lock: Remove the boot clamp, pull back gasket, and remove the door lock assembly. Check for broken internal parts or signs of overheating.
• Replace lock: If the lock is noisy, intermittent, or visibly damaged, install a new Kenmore door lock assembly.
