Possible Causes
Stuck-open water inlet valve, Faulty water level pressure sensor, Blocked pressure hose, Control board failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the washer and turn off water supply immediately if overfilling occurs.
- Check if water stops when unplugged: If water continues to enter the tub with power off, the inlet valve is mechanically stuck open and must be replaced.
- Inspect pressure hose: Remove the top cover, locate the small air hose from the tub to the pressure sensor. Check for kinks, cracks, or blockages. Clear any soap residue and reattach securely.
- Test sensor: If the hose is clear but FE persists, the water level pressure sensor may be misreading. Replace the sensor with an LG-compatible part.
- Control board: If the valve only fills when powered and the sensor and valve test good, the main PCB may be sending incorrect signals and should be diagnosed by a professional.
