Possible Causes

Closed or low-pressure water supply, Clogged inlet valve screens, Failed hot/cold water inlet valve, Faulty water level sensor (pressure switch)

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the washer and close both hot and cold water supply valves before disconnecting hoses.

  • Verify water supply: Confirm both hot and cold faucets are fully open. Check household water pressure by running a nearby faucet; weak flow may cause IE.
  • Inspect inlet hoses: Turn off water, disconnect hoses from the back of the washer, and check the small metal screens inside the valve ports. Clean sediment with a soft brush; do not puncture screens.
  • Check hose kinks: Ensure hoses are not kinked or crushed behind the washer.
  • Test fill function: Reconnect hoses, turn water back on, and run a Quick Wash. Listen for the inlet valves clicking and water entering. If no water flows but supply is good, the inlet valve assembly is likely faulty.
  • Check water level sensor: If the tub overfills or never registers water level, the pressure sensor and its air hose may be blocked or defective. Inspect for kinks or cracks in the small air tube from tub to sensor.
  • When to replace parts: If cleaning screens and verifying supply does not resolve IE, replace the LG water inlet valve assembly. If water fills but IE still appears, consider replacing the water level pressure sensor.
