Possible Causes
Failed NTC thermistor, Loose thermistor wiring, Faulty heater assembly, Control board temperature circuit fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the washer and allow any hot water to cool before working near the heater.
- Access thermistor: On many LG front-loaders, the thermistor is mounted near the heater at the bottom front of the tub. Remove the rear or front lower panel to access.
- Check connections: Ensure the thermistor connector is fully seated and wires are not damaged.
- Visual inspection: Look for signs of burning or cracking on the thermistor or heater terminals.
- Replace thermistor: If tE persists, replace the NTC thermistor with an LG-compatible sensor. It usually pulls out from a rubber grommet.
- Heater check: If the heater is open or shorted, replace the heater assembly as well.
