Possible Causes
Clogged drain pump filter, Blocked drain hose, Failed drain pump, Obstructed tub-to-pump hose
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the washer and turn off the water supply before working on it. Have towels or a shallow pan ready for water spillage.
- Check drain hose: Ensure the drain hose at the back is not kinked, crushed, or inserted too far into the standpipe. Straighten any kinks and make sure the hose end is 10–15 cm into the drain pipe.
- Clean pump filter: On most Midea front-loaders, open the lower front access panel, place a tray under the filter cap, and slowly unscrew the cap to drain water. Remove debris (coins, lint, buttons) from the filter and housing, then reinstall securely.
- Inspect tub-to-pump hose: If accessible, squeeze the black rubber hose between tub and pump to feel for blockages. Remove and clear if clogged.
- Test drain pump: With the machine empty, run a drain/spin cycle and listen for the pump. If it hums but does not pump, or is silent, the pump may be faulty and should be replaced with a compatible Midea drain pump assembly.
- Reset: After clearing blockages, unplug for 2–3 minutes, plug back in, and run a rinse & spin to confirm the error is cleared.
