Possible Causes
Faulty door lock assembly, Broken door strike, Loose door lock wiring, Control board not powering lock
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the washer before working on the door lock.
- Check door alignment: Ensure the door closes squarely and the strike enters the lock opening fully. Adjust hinges if the door is sagging.
- Inspect strike: Replace a cracked or loose door strike with a Midea-compatible part.
- Access door lock: Remove the outer clamp of the door gasket and pull back the gasket to access the lock. Check the connector for looseness or corrosion.
- Test lock: With the lock removed (and washer unplugged), test its solenoid or PTC element for continuity. Replace the door lock assembly if open or physically damaged.
- Control board: If a new lock does not resolve the issue, the control board may not be sending power to the lock and may require replacement.
