Possible Causes
Faulty lid switch (top-load), Faulty door lock assembly (front-load), Misaligned door latch, Broken door strike
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the washer before working near electrical components or the door lock.
- Check door/lid closure: Ensure the door or lid is fully closed and not obstructed by clothing. Press firmly to see if the error clears.
- Inspect door strike: Look at the plastic door strike on the door; if cracked or loose, replace it with a compatible Midea strike.
- Clean latch area: Use a soft brush to remove lint and detergent buildup from the door lock opening.
- Test lid/door switch: For top-loaders, access the lid switch under the top panel and check the actuator. For front-loaders, remove the front gasket clamp and access the door lock. Use a multimeter to test continuity when the door is closed. Replace the door lock or lid switch if it fails.
- Reset: After replacement, unplug for 2–3 minutes, then test a short cycle.
