Worn agitator dogs or splines, Loose agitator bolt, Stripped drive hub, Faulty transmission (gearcase)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the washer before working inside the tub.
- Check agitator attachment: Remove the fabric softener cap and inner cover, then remove the agitator bolt. Lift the agitator and inspect splines for wear.
- Agitator dogs: If equipped, replace worn agitator dogs or clutch components with a Midea-compatible kit.
- Drive hub: Inspect the hub that connects the agitator to the transmission shaft. Replace if stripped.
- Transmission: If the agitator and hub are good but still no movement, the gearcase may be faulty and require professional replacement.
