Possible Causes

Faulty drive motor, Broken drive belt (belt-driven models), Defective motor capacitor (top-load), Failed main control board output

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the washer before accessing the motor or belt.

  • Check drum movement: Try to rotate the drum by hand. If it spins freely but does not move during wash, suspect motor or belt.
  • Inspect belt: Remove the rear panel and check if the belt is off, loose, or broken. Replace with the correct Midea belt if needed.
  • Capacitor (top-load): Locate and test the motor capacitor with a capacitance meter. Replace if out of specification.
  • Motor test: Measure motor winding resistance and check for shorts. Replace the motor if defective.
  • Control board: If motor and belt are good, the main PCB may not be sending power to the motor and may require replacement.
