Possible Causes
Stuck door lock mechanism, Faulty door lock solenoid, Broken door handle or cable, Control module not sending unlock signal
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the washer. Do not force the door open with tools as this can shatter the glass.
- Wait for safety delay: Many Neff machines have a 1–2 minute delay after cycle end before unlocking. Ensure the display shows the cycle is complete.
- Check for water in drum: If water remains, the machine may keep the door locked. Run a drain program or manually drain via the pump filter before attempting to open.
- Use emergency release (if fitted): Behind the pump filter flap, look for a colored pull cord or lever. Gently pull to mechanically release the door lock.
- Inspect door lock: Once open and with power disconnected, remove the door seal band and access the door lock. Check for signs of overheating or mechanical damage. Replace the lock assembly if it is burnt or jammed.
- Check handle and latch: Ensure the door handle mechanism fully retracts the latch hook. Replace the handle or complete door if broken.
